The Facebook Challenge

Facebook, if you aren't on it then you know someone who is. It is a great way to stay connected to family and friends or promote your business. It is a dangerous place though. "Dangerous, how," you ask. It is a danger to the moral of the world! Okay, it sounds a little extreme, but is there a single one of us who have never seen something negative in their feed?

Here is what happens...

Ellie had a run in with a coworker, teacher, whoever and is now disgruntled. What do you do with this new feeling of discontent? Why put on facebook, of course! I see it in my feed every day. My feed is overflowing with negativity. I know I have contributed more than once myself. This is where the facebook challenge comes in.

What would happen if the next time you started typing a negative status you stopped, thought of a positive spin on it, and typed that instead. My theory is this: if you change your status from a negative to a positive not only will you help brighten your fellow facebooker's day, you will brighten your own! Now what if you take that 1 step further and reach out to and encourage someone as well. 1 small step can go a long way, and I would like to see where it goes.

Here is the challenge:
Part 1: Make a commitment to turn all your negative comments into positives. You can pick any time amount you like, a day, week, month, or year. During that time never update a negative status!
Part 2: Purposely seek out and encourage someone on facebook. Whether it is 1 a day or 1 a week during your challenge time, I am sure it will make a huge difference!

So what am I doing? I am pledging a year and I am going to encourage at least 1 person each day. I would love to hear your pledges and how your experiences go with this experiment. Please share this challenge with others too. Imagine what it would be like if your feed looked like this all the time. Let's see what happens!

April Etsykids Challenge

This is my entry for this month's etsy kids challenge! The topic this month is Autism Awareness. I knew right away that I was going for a crayon roll. I am really happy with how it turned out too. You can find it in our Etsy shop here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/62005608/delux-puzzle-piece-crayon-roll-crayon
